This project has made me laugh from beginning to end. When something this simple can put a big smile on your face, you know it's a good thing! So, it's all done. I hand embroidered the bird cage with metallic gold embroidery floss. I machine appliqued the birds and flowers. I played around with the photo, and made the green grass a bit hyper saturated, reminiscent of those brighter and larger than life color images from the 50s. I may have to make another circle skirt. I've already been gathering ideas.

yes! a little more aging to the photo and this could be a postcard purchsed in the 50's from a motor lodge lobby, preferably a hojo's. :)
