There has been a panel of sweet Valentine fabric and several yards of cream and black Valentine theme fabric in my stash for a Very Long Time. I've always had the intention of making a Valentine quilt, but the Valentines on the panel were all different shapes and sizes, and I could never figure out what to do with them. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled the panel out, looked at it, thought about it, and put it back. I recently pulled it out and went for it! I cut each Valentine out and left a half inch border. Then I attached wide strips of red 30s prints. Using my handy-dandy 9 1/2 inch ruler, I squared them all up, sashed and bordered them and voila! I am so very pleased with the results! This was a gift to my mom for her birthday.Tuesday, March 23, 2010
